This person will assist the teacher and students in the classroom or in a vocational program. Knowledge of students with disabilities, curriculum modification, learning styles, and appropriate accommodations is necessary. Reports to Director of Student Services.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Participate in daily and classroom activity planning.
  2. Conducts learning exercises with small groups or individual students.
  3. Guides students in working with other students.
  4. Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual students.
  5. Helps maintain individual records for each student.
  6. Helps to maintain discipline under supervision of teacher.
  7. Assists teacher in maintaining a safe and clean work and study environment.
  8. Assists with the supervision of students during regular classroom/shop periods.
  9. Collects data for IEP reviews/reevaluations.

  1. College credit and/or experience preferred.
  2. Characteristics, which clearly incorporate a team concept and indicate ability to relate positively to high school students and colleagues.
  3. Possess personal and professional history, which is exemplary and supported with references.
  4. Experience with special needs students’ preferred.
  5. The candidate must be able to work effectively within in-person and remote educational models.
  6. The candidate must be able to inspire excellence, achieve consensus and respond effectively to the system's mission with humor and enthusiasm


Duration: SY2024-2025 School year

Compensation:

  1. Compensation shall be based on the successful candidate’s credentials, approvals, and experience.
