Wentzville Parks and Recreation is searching for an experienced, energetic leader with a creative mind willing to plan, organize and manage the daily activities of ice, aquatic and fitness facilities including the new Wentzville
Rec Center (WREC).
In this role, you will recruit, select and train full-time, part-time staff to assist with providing ice, aquatic and fitness programs and activities. You will also maintain inventory of assigned equipment and assist with overseeing maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will have experience developing and managing budgets, ice and aquatics facilities, fitness programs, contractual agreements and possess excellent leadership skills with the ability to delegate responsibilities while creating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under general direction, this position is responsible for the planning, organization and management of work performed by specialized recreation professionals in order to provide a comprehensive system of city recreation programs and services specifically related to ice arena, aquatic and fitness programs and services.
Incumbents provide oversight for a specialized service unit whose technical expertise covers three (3) or more work disciplines, are responsible for the administration of assigned programs, assist in establishing quality standards for facility operations and for developing subordinate staff to ensure attainment of high quality work performance measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five 5 years of experience in recreation management including two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- First Aid, CPR, CPO, and AED certification required.
- Lifeguard certification required.
