SUMMARY:
As a Recreation Services Specialist, you will manage and oversee our Department’s front desk operations, including registration and memberships. In addition, you will be responsible for training and leading a diverse group of individuals to ensure superior, professional customer service is provided to all patrons and staff.
Recreation Service Specialists must have a flexible schedule and be available to work some evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt in an ever-changing environment, possess a strong work ethic and be motivated to promote the positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment Wentzville Parks and Recreation strives to provide.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, the Recreation Service Specialist is responsible for performing specialized work in billing, collection, and customer service activities. Supervises, leads, evaluates and trains part-time staff for all customer service operations within a functional area. Work includes contact with the public under conditions requiring the use of tact and initiative, ensuring excellent customer service at all times. Provides administrative
support for Parks and Recreation staff and leadership.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience or recreation programming required.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- First-aid/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree recreation, leisure services, business administration or related field desired.
- Experience working with recreation registration software is desired.
- Prior supervisory and cash handling experience desired.
