Job Description: Primary Responsibility Under the supervision of a designated supervisor, and working in close collaboration with Strategic Initiatives department, the position is responsible for assisting the admissions team with efforts to recruit prospective students for health sciences programs, particularly from underrepresented backgrounds. The position will support pre-enrollment follow up of students, provide recommendations for student services and assist students in exploring the many pathways and careers in the health sciences. Must provide excellent communication to guide and support prospective students through the admissions process using both face-to-face and digital communication methods. This position reviews and processes admissions applications to ensure the application and related data is accurate and available to campuses in a timely manner. Also supports campus enrollment specialists by serving as a lead user of the college’s CRM, providing training and feedback on individual performance. Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards) Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and two years related work experience; or, Associate’s Degree and three years related work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and four years related work experience or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill and abilities to perform the functions of the position. Knowledge of a variety of standard administrative and business methods and procedures; standard Microsoft Office software. Familiarity with other software such as CRM software is desirable. Ability to: read, write, speak, and understand English and Spanish well; operate variety of office equipment; proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic mail; multitask; meet deadlines; strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience and familiarity with the healthcare industry is preferred. Hiring range = $47,777.79 - $53,086.43 ($22.97 - $25.52 hourly) annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Minimum Qualifications: Essential Duties Recruiting, pre-enrollment, and student services activities focused within the health sciences career community such as Provides exceptional communication (In English and Spanish) with prospective students via phone calls, text messages, emails, Zoom, and chat. Processes and reviews admissions applications, including determination of residency status, duplicate merging, and evaluating petitions for special tuition rates. Provides recommendations for development of new procedures to assist in creating enrolment access for students from underrepresented student backgrounds Supports admissions staff in the management of their recruitment efforts, including attending and assisting with virtual and in-person recruitment events. Will conduct targeted outreach to potential health sciences students As needed, performs clerical and technical support duties including manual data entry, running reports, enrollment mailings, swag inventory, data imports, and high school transcript evaluations. Assists with monitoring and completing specific tasks assigned in the CRM system. Remains informed regarding current issues and trends in admission, marketing, and higher education; serves as a support or back-up for registration and financial aid. General Student Services Coordination Conduct scholarship and financial aid presentations to a variety of audiences including students, parents, prospective students and other constituents at high school and other outreach events. Assists with the development and coordination of admissions processes and procedures, especially as it relates to specific student populations whose first language might not be English and who hold a nontraditional immigration status. Assist with Front Line Financial Aid Counseling, including; FAFSA assistance; general counseling on financing options specifically for prospective Fund Suenos 2.0 students; provides FA Self-Serve support and assists in completing financial aid and scholarship applications, with a specific focus on CASFA. Assists in student recruiting and pre-enrollment follow-up, including general financial aid advising; follows up with prospective students via phone and email Serves on committees Organizational effectiveness duties Coordinate with the department and with Strategic Initiatives department to assess training needs and objectives. Identify areas of operational weakness and possible training solutions and develop individual or group training opportunities, materials and documentation as it relates to effective student strategies to recruit and onboard students from underrepresented backgrounds with a focus on students of color and low-income students. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervision Received This position receives general supervision from a designated supervisor. Supervisory Responsibility This position may supervise student employees and serve as a lead to other staff. Special Conditions of Employment Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report will be required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. May require travel within the college district, altered work schedule and/or occasional evening/weekend hours. Working Conditions This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally.
