Job Summary
Milwaukee Board of School Directors (Milwaukee Public Schools) currently has eight openings for the position of School Psychologist. School Psychologists serve a diverse student population in Milwaukee Public Schools in a variety of school settings (traditional, Montessori, language immersion, IB, charter & magnet). Provide direct services at the prevention, intervention, and supportive levels to both regular education and special education students. Conduct assessments for initial special education referrals. Consult with school-based staff regarding referred students. Participate in initial IEP team meetings. Special Education re-evaluations including assessment, IEP Team participation, adding relevant information to the district’s student information system, and providing related services. Involvement in the Building Intervention Team (BIT), including academic BIT, assisting with RTI (Response to Intervention) data analysis at all tiers to determine students in need of tiered academic supports, participating in making recommendations for other academic supports for students. Behavior BIT, including assisting with PBIS data analysis at all tiers to determine students in need of tiered behavioral supports, facilitating or co-facilitating Behavior BIT meetings, and providing data regarding students receiving Tier 2/3 PBIS interventions. Direct services to students including individual therapy, group therapy, classroom presentations (Talking about Touching, Second Step, Yoga, Mindfulness, etc.), Check In/Check Out, facilitation of Tier 2 interventions such as Social/Academic Instruction Groups, and facilitation of Tier 3 interventions such as Educational Wraparound/RENEW. Systems level work including school-based committees (i.e., Climate Committee, PBIS Committee, etc.), School-Based Learning Team, Violence Prevention activities, and School-based training on trauma informed care. Additional school-based services including Section 504 Coordination, which includes determining the need for assessments for initial evaluations and reevaluations, facilitating compliance with plan implementation, and facilitating annual reviews, consultation and collaboration with school staff members, district employees, and families, Risk Assessments, District Crisis Team participation, and Processing initial IEP referral paperwork and sending the documentation to the centralized evaluation team.

Salary Range :$64,480 to $98,329/year (200/day)
Qualifications
Requires Master’s Degree in educational psychology, school psychology, psychology, or related field. Requires Wisconsin DPI license for School Psychologist, or eligibility for Wisconsin DPI license for School Psychologist.
