The St. Martin Parish School Board (SMPSB) is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as its Superintendent of Schools. Located just to the east of Lafayette and less than an hour west of Baton Rouge, the SMPSB serves and educates a diverse population of over 7,225 students in 15 schools with 1120 employees. The SMPSB’s annual operating budget is approximately $103,000,000.
Qualifications and Standards: Each applicant must meet or exceed as of the date of application the qualifications for superintendent listed in Bulletin 746 Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel. Accordingly, the applicant must possess a valid Louisiana teaching certificate which documents School Superintendent as an area of certification or possess a letter from the Louisiana Department of Education certifying their immediate eligibility to serve as a school superintendent in Louisiana. Proof of such certification must be included within the application.

Deadline for Applications: All applications must be post-marked on or before March 1, 2023. Applications post-marked after that date will not be considered.

The St. Martin Parish School Board expects to negotiate a competitive salary and benefits package depending upon the candidate’s experience, accomplishments, and credentials. The salary range for the position is $130,000 to $160,000 annually. It is anticipated that interviews of selected applicants will begin in March, and it is the hope of the school board that the individual selected for the position will be able to begin shortly after his/her selection.
