SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York. Job Description:
SUNY Broome is seeking candidates for a part-time Typist in the Educational Opportunity Program office (EOP).
SUNY Broome Community College's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is a NY State-funded program that provides access for historically underrepresented students to and through college. The program provides personal, academic and financial support for first-time, full-time students who show promise for succeeding in college. SUNY Broome proudly serves 83 EOP students on its campus.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Filing of student records.
- Updating office spreadsheets.
- Responding to inquiries about the program via phone and email.
- Calendar and programming support.
- Recruitment and budgetary support (i.e. purchasing and requisitions).
Requirements:
A graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma is required.
- The ability to work with diverse and underrepresented students.
- Effective communication skills.
- The ability and desire to effectively work in a fast paced, team environment and to anticipate the needs of the program.
- The understanding of, and ability to use, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Office Suite, fax machine, and photo copy machine.
- A friendly and welcoming demeanor.
Additional Information:
The hourly rate for this position is $18.06.
Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
