BUILDING ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR - SHEYENNE HIGH SCHOOL
West Fargo Public Schools is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as the Building Activities Director at Sheyenne High School!

POSITION: Building Activities Director - Sheyenne High School

TERM: 225-day contract beginning with the 2023-2024 school year

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the District Activities Coordinator, the Building Activities Director is responsible for supervising and overseeing the learner co-curricular and extra-curricular programs within West Fargo Public Schools for grades 9-12 at Sheyenne High School, adhering to the policies of the district, rules and guidelines of Title IX, and the ND High School Activities Association.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Major field of study or degree emphasis: Educational/Leadership preparation, Sports Management/Leadership, or closely related field
Valid ND Teaching License or required or a Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association
Requires a minimum of three years directly related experience leading or supervising coaches and advisors of activities
Master's Degree in Administration or Sports Management/Leadership preferred
Previous experience organizing, scheduling, supervising and evaluating events or programs preferred

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties of the job:
Creates, develops, and provides schedules for various activities in-district as well as interscholastic events.
Serves as the primary liaison and representative of their building regarding the co-curricular and extra-curricular programs, activities, and events.
Supervises, evaluates, and coordinates the activities of coaches and advisors of co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
Monitors budget for grades 9-12 co-curricular and extra-curricular programs.
Schedules and provides professional staff for various co-curricular and extra-curricular events.
Secures facilities for co-curricular and extra-curricular events/activities.
Attends, works with, and represents the district before various local, league, state and federal agencies to develop, update and provide information related to regulations and rules of the co-curricular and extra-curricular program.
Assists principals, assistant principals, and district staff in providing a safe environment for learners participating in events.
Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:

Teaching principles, practices, techniques, and approaches
NDHSAA participation and eligibility rules and regulations
Local and state rules and regulations or laws pertinent to athletics, safety/health, events, and their operations
District procedures and policies governing procurement, learner discipline and risk management; contracting with outside personnel and the hiring and supervision of coaches/advisors.
Management theories, principles, and techniques.
Athletic administration principles, practices, and procedures.

SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, the position would follow the 2023-2024 Administrator Salary Schedule, which is subject to pending negotiations. (Please refer to the 2022-2023 Administrator Salary Schedule for reference, Salary Grade 23).
The WFPS District funds the entire 11.75% employee contribution to TFFR, as well as the 12.75% employer contribution. WFPS offers a competitive salary and benefits package, plus 403b annuity match!
* For individuals that do not hold a ND educator's license, salary will be adjusted to account for the NDPERS employee contribution.
